Judging a book by its cover

Hey friends ๐Ÿ‘‹ I’ve decided to try out something new with Betsy as I’ve been experimenting with the Arteza Real Brush Pens on actual paper before making the final edits via Procreate. I’m actually digging this style in combining both traditional & digital art techniques into one image ๐Ÿ˜Š I wanted to capture a storybook feel and I think I got it right!

Let me know what you think ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

My Favorite Form Of Self Care

Sometimes when things get hectic, I rely on one thing that helps me stay sane (aside from eating food). And that is…taking a nap!

I think many of us take naps for granted, especially when we get older. Of course, handling children and trying to squeeze in a few winks is difficult to do so. That’s why I try my best to take one either during my lunch break or when I’m finally finished with my work. Those 10-15 minutes are pure bliss.

What’s your form of self care?

Motherโ€™s Day

It’s been a while since I did a comic. Been experimenting with different styles and ended up making it colourful with a bit of a pastel / retro aesthetic.

I decided to create the comics on Procreate since it was easier for me to do the shading along with adding the text. It’s quite a different direction, compared to using Comic Life by plasq.

I created Betsy and baby Betsy for this comic, inspired by my Pillow Pet plush animals. They’re always together, no matter where they go ๐Ÿฎ

Mother’s Day has been quiet, but filled with plenty of sentimental moments since I decided to stay home and celebrate with my family. It was also a dual celebration since my son’s birthday is this week. Can’t believe he will be turning 4 and starting Pre-K this year! How time flies ๐Ÿ˜จ

While I’m grateful & fortunate that I’m able to spend time with my family, my son and being able to speak with my mom – I know that Mother’s Day can be a difficult time for others.

For those who are struggling and doing their best to cope – I want you to know that I’m thinking of you. If you ever need to talk or want to share your experiences about Mother’s Day, I am opening this space for you.

Namaste,

Diana
